Interests of Better Homes and Gardens is focused on homes, gardening, healthy living, cooking, crafts, decorating, and entertaining. The Meredith Corporation publishes the magazine 12 times per year. Edwin Meredith, who had previously been the United States Secretary of Agriculture under Woodrow Wilson, founded it in 1922. Better Homes and Gardens is one of the “Seven Sisters”, a group of women’s service magazines.

‘The BHG It’s Where Life Happens Photo Contest’ was started on 3 June 2010 and will be ended on 30 September 2010. To participate in the BHG It’s Where Life Happens Photo Contest, Visit bhg.com/ItsWhereLifeHappens and click on the ‘go’ button to enter. Then complete the registration and follow the instructions to upload one album of photos (up to six (6) photos) of the special moments you share with family and friends in your home. However, for this contest, participants should be legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, and their age should be 21 years or older. There is a limit, one entry per person. Purchase is not necessary to enter or win.

There will be two (2) rounds of Judging to select the winner. First round is ‘Editorial Judging’, which will on or about 4 October 2010, in which a qualified panel of judges will judge all eligible entries received on the basis of creativity of photo. Second round is ‘Readers’ Choice Voting Award’, in which visitors to the contest website will be invited to vote for their favorite finalist. Readers’ choice voting will start on 8 November 2010, and end at 11:59 p.m., C.T., on December 6, 2010. In the event of a tie, the finalist among the tied entries with the highest score in the representation of theme criterion will be the winner. Results are unofficial until verified. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all respects.

The twenty-five (25) Finalists will each receive a prize package consisting of a $100 check; photo journal from bhglifeinphotos.com, retail value $19.99; and 52 coupons for pretzels from Snyder’s of Hanover, retail value $207.48. One (1) grand prize winner of the editorial judging will receive a $5,000 check. In addition, winning photo(s) will be featured in the February 2011 issue of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Sponsor is not responsible for any circumstances that make it impractical or impossible to fulfill this element of the prize, which has no retail value.
