An epic new TV mini-series ‘Camelot,’ a fresh take on the classic King Arthur saga is being joined by Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green. Joseph Fiennes and Eva Green have signed on to the forthcoming Starz’s series “Camelot.” Camelot is historical TV show with the team which made “The Tudors”. Fiennes will be seen as the fabled wizard Merlin and Eva Green will be seen as the sorceress Morgana in the retelling of the legend.
Jamie Campbell Bower and Tamsin Egerton are also going to be seen in forthcoming series of “Camelot” announced by Starz and GK-TV. The important roles of Arthur and Guinevere will be played by Jamie Campbell Bower and Tamsin Egerton.
The series “Camelot” will be aired in early 2011 on Starz. Camelot is an international co-production among Irish company Octagon and Canadian outfit Take 5, and developed in organization with the U.K.’s Ecosse Films. The series will “take a fresh approach to tell the Arthur story” stated by network. Most recently, Fiennes was seen in ABC’s “Flash Forward” as the lead character. While in Casino Royale, Green was seen as Bond girl Vesper Lynd. For this role, she received the BAFTA Rising Star award back in 2007.
Camelot will be the first show of Green, so the series is going to rock. The personalities of the characters are outstanding which really set them apart. The production on the series is expected to begin later on June and the show is scheduled to air in early 2011.
The CEO and Starz president Albrecht said, “With Joseph Fiennes, Eva Green, Jamie Campbell Bower and Tamsin Egerton in the cast, we’ve got actors who can bring real passion and intensity to their roles.”
Starz Media Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik added, “All of the best TV shows were marked by great actors in the ideal parts, and that is certainly the case with the talented cast on Camelot”.
