In South Africa, Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu has married with his girlfriend Lisa Selesner on 6 April 2010. They will be holding a large-scale party to celebrate their union later in Hong Kong.

Chinese-American actor Daniel Wu has married with his long time girlfriend Lisa Selesner in a small forest in South Africa on 6 April 2010. 35-year-old actor announced the wedding in his blog, http://www.alivenotdead.com/daniel on Saturday with two postings titled My Wedding and We Did It. He posted his photos on his blog, which were showing that the couple was seated on a blanket in a small forest while attending the ceremony.

Lisa S. wore traditional African conceals and headdress, before going through a ceremony officiated by an African priestess. After taking off their traditional garb, the couple knelt and exchanged rings in Western wedding dress. Wu was dressed in a coffee-coloured suit while Selesner, wore an elegant cream-coloured shoulder-less wedding gown.

Wu told Hong Kong media, “This is the place where I fell in love with Lisa, so we decided to hold our wedding here, a place which holds a special meaning for us.” In addition “When we first knew each other, I always heard her (Selesner) say she wanted to go to South Africa and felt it was strange as she said the mud hut had no electricity. When I went with her [to the mud hut] for the first time, we stayed for a month and I found that I liked her. If we can live together for a month, I can stay with her long term.”

On their wedding, most of their friends were not invited, only a handful of guests and family members were present. Wedding gown of Lisa was designed by Hong Kong fashion designer Dorian Ho, he said that two months ago of her marriage, the bride asked him to design the dress for her. He adding, “She asked me not to tell anyone about it. Initially, she even wanted to sign a contract with our company to ensure that the news was not leaked.” They will be holding a large-scale party to celebrate their union later in Hong Kong that is revealed by the couple.

30 year old, Lisa Selesner is a TV host, model and daughter of Gary Selesner, who is the president of Las Vegas Caesars Palace, and of Chinese and French parentage. Daniel Wu is one of Chinese-language cinema’s biggest stars, and was moved to Hong Kong in 1997, starting out as a model before moving into acting. “Around the World in 80 Days,” “New Police Story,” “The Banquet” and “Shinjuku Incident,” are his best films.

For quite a short time, Wu has indeed managed to stay with Selesner. In 2002, they first met at a party and decided to live together in 2005. The couple declared, they had a very smooth relationship, in their eight-year relationship, they have fought six times but never over rumours about Wu and other women in the papers. Lisa Selesner said, “I don’t ask about it and don’t wish to know. Luckily, our (Wu and herself) Mandarin is quite poor, so we don’t read the gossip columns in the newspapers. We also understand that a lot of it is just for publicity.“
