1. S-Video Connector: Connect PC to TV

This S-Video Connector is maybe the most common method of connecting the laptop to TV. Almost all televisions has and by using S-Video cable on connecting laptop to, the pictures qualities that you get, is not very good. But there are two types of S-Video connector: 4-pin and 7-pin. 2. VGA Connector: Connect PC to TV If you have a HDTV, then you will be better off connecting using a VGA cable but for connecting laptop to HDTV, a VGA connector can only be used. The VGA connector is very cheap and provides much better picture quality than S-Video. You typically will not find a VGA port on regular TV’s though, so this option is if you have an HDTV.

3. DVI Connector: Connect PC to TV

DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface with “digital” being the key word there. A higher quality picture than either S-Video or VGA will give by this digital signal. Of course, most computer or laptops have a DVI connection and your TV will need to be an HDTV. Your TV should have the DVI port, it is very necessary. You will need a separate audio cable for transmitting audio from your laptop to your TV.

4. HDMI Connector: Connect PC to TV

HDMI will give you the best quality by far. No computers that I know of yet have HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ports, but many of laptops do not have this feature. As a solution you can get a DVI to HDMI cable to connect it to your HDTV. But many of laptops do not have this feature. HDMI is well-matched with DVI.

HDMI connector’s cost is absolutely more than that of any other connector, but after using this HDMI, you will realize that the mode of connection is definitely worth it.

5. RCA Connector: Connect PC to TV

This is the last but the least method of connecting laptops to TV. An RCA cable has three cables, one is red, and second one is white and third id yellow. For right and left analog audio, the red and white colored cable stand respectively. The yellow cable is used for composite video. Your laptop will not have the RCA connection feature, it is nearly clear. But to join the RCA connector connected to your computer, you can use an RCA to S-video converter as your solution.
