On 21st December, 1911 Central Bank of India was established and it is the first Indian commercial bank which was completely owned and managed by Indians. Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala was the founder of the Bank and Sir Pherozesha Mehta was the first Chairman of a truly ‘Swadeshi Bank’. In fact, such was the extent of arrogance felt by Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala that he announced Central Bank of India as the ‘property of the nation and the country’s asset’.

To get recapitalization finance from the government over the next 24 months, Central bank of India is one of 18 Public Sector banks in India. Together with 13 banks, the Indian Government nationalized the bank on 19th July, 1969.

Qualification:

• Pass with at least 50% marks in HSC/ 11th standard / Intermediate/ Pre University/ Diploma in Banking (a mere pass for SC/ST/XSC/PC is sufficient)
• Degree in any discipline from a recognized University
• Pass with at least 60% marks in Matriculation/ SSC/ SSLC/ 10 th standard.(50% for SC/ST/XSC/PC)

Note: For Ex-Servicemen (who do not possess the above) a pass in service (Departmental) Examination which is recognized to civil examination not below the rank of Higher Secondary School Examination. All educational qualifications should be from Recognized University/Central/State/U.T. Administration. Should be able to write and speak English fluently. Knowledge to read, speak and write the official language of the state for which the applicant has applied.

• For SC/ST/EX-Servicemen/PWD – Rs. 50/-
• For all others (including OBC) – Rs. 250/-

First of all pay application fee at Central Bank of India CBS branch and take fee payment receipt, then apply online at Central bank of India official website & take print out of the filled application form that you must take during the Interview stage. 8th December 2010, is the last date to apply.

Notification regarding the Central Bank of India Recruitment 2011:

Emoluments for the post of Clerical Cadre: Pay Scale: Rs 4,410-13,210 (Under revision) Approx. total emoluments at the start of the scale will be Rs. 7,000/- (approx) inclusive of DA, CCA & HRA at Metropolitan Centre.

Additionally, Medical Aid, Hospitalization Scheme, Leave Fare Concession, Retirement benefits are admissible as per Bank’s rules.
