Diwali or Deepavali is popularly known as the festival of lights. It is a five day festival that symbolizes the start of the Hindu New Year. Diwali is actually celebrated in honor of Lord Rama and his wife Sita returning to their kingdom of Ayodhya after conquering Ravan, the ruler of Lanka. Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps which is known as diyas filled with oil to signify the victory of good over evil.

Deepavali is an official holiday in India, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Surinam and Fiji. During Diwali celebrants share sweets and snacks with family members and wear new clothes. Most of the Indian business communities begin the financial year on the first day of Diwali, hoping for affluence the following year.

This year Diwali starts on 3rd November. There is a different meaning of each day of the festival. The main festivities take place on the third day (on November 5), while the fourth day is celebrated as New Year’s Day. Brothers and sisters get together and share food, to tribute the relationship between them on the fifth and last day.

Elsa Einstein was the daughter of Rudolf Einstein and Fanny Koch. She was born in Hechingen in January 1876. She had two sisters whose name Paula (1878 – 1955) and Hermine (1872–1942). Elsa Einstein and Albert Einstein were used to play frequently in childhood. She called him “Albertle” in her Swabian dialect. In 1894, to follow his family to Milan, Albert Einstein had left Germany at that time both were separated.

In 1914, Albert Einstein was migrated to Berlin where Elsa lived. She had been married and divorced before becoming involved with Einstein. She had two daughters named Ilse and Margot from first husband. Ultimately, Albert Einstein became like a father to Elsa’s children.

In 1917, Elsa had taken care of him back to health when Albert Einstein was in critical condition. At that period of time they would become closer and two years later they got married on June 2, 1919 after Albert’s divorce.

During Albert’s many trips to give lectures and talks, Elsa accompanied him to become the first celebrity scientist. In 1921, Albert and Elsa went to the United States together where he was helping to raise funds for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. On the same year, he honored by the Nobel Prize for Physics in recognition of his earlier work. To manage Albert’s routine business affairs until 1928, Elsa played an important role in his career. Elsa remained his tireless protector who was keeping unwanted visitors away, and Helen Dukas was hired as his secretary.

In the early 1930s, everything became increasingly difficult for him in Germany after the rise of the Nazi Party. In his opposition to the Nazis, Einstein was blunt because of their anti-Semitic policies. He learned that their summer home had been searched by the government while Albert was traveling in 1933. After that their property was in custody. In the United States, Einsteins ultimately sought asylum by realizing that they could not return to Germany.

In October 1933, both were arrived in the United States. After that he became a professor of theoretical physics at the Princeton Institute for Advanced Study in New Jersey. In a short period of time she came to know that her daughter Ilse had cancer. Elsa was visited Paris to be with her daughter in her final stage of life. Very soon her daughter Margot moved to the United States to be with her mother. After Ilse’s death, Elsa became ill frequently because she had heart and liver problems. Elsa died in the Einsteins’ Princeton home on December 20, 1936.

On Monday night, Panjo went missing when owner Goosey Fernandes was taking him to the vet. After the two day search, it has been found near Bronkorstspruit, east of Pretoria. The family was “ecstatic” said the Justin Fernandes, son of the big cat’s owner, Goosey Fernandes, to The Times.

When in their natural environment, Bengals may be fearless predators but Panjo is more at home playing with Goosey Fernandes and his adopted family at their home near Pretoria, South Africa. From the age of just three weeks, Panjo was hand-reared when he was left clinging to life after being abandoned by his mother.

The big cat’s owner, Goosey Fernandes brought him home and immediately took on the job of nurturing the tiny tiger cub, who is now 19 months old and strong and healthy. Panjo has been regularly prowling around the house, cuddling up to its owners, leaping onto the kitchen bench and playing with Fernandes’ jack russells Milo and Sky.

Fernandes said “He plays with them, they steal his bones, they run after each other. He has never hurt one of my dogs, they play all the time, they are good friends,’ And while he already looks big enough to be more than a little bit wary, he is in fact only half the size he is likely to be when fully grown”

At heart, he is only a baby, he still feeding largely off the bottle milk Fernandes gives him and when he is not fed at night, he is crying.

Fernandes said “If he is really hungry he has even been known to raid the fridge. The bond I have with Panjo myself and the family is something extraordinary,’ ‘At night he will cry and want his bottle of milk, He lies on my couch outside the house drinking milk. It’s worth every minute.”

As a family pet Panjo’s days are numbered because as a naturally wild animal, it might become dangerous to keep him in such a small space.

Goosey said “He plays with them all the time. They’re good friends.” he added “The bond I have with Panjo is extraordinary. He’s just like a big kid – and cries for his bottle of milk at night.” Panjo is now 19 months and caused a scare last month when he went walkabout for a few days. Goosey fears it won’t be long before he has to find him a new home.

Fernandes told Jacaranda FM “I put him in the back of the truck. And then I locked the thing up and my wife was actually behind me in another car. We left the farm in Groblersdal and when I got to Delmas I stopped and the back door was open and my cat was gone.”
